DISCIPLE BIBLE STUDY
Disciple Bible Study is an in-depth study that originated out of a need for a more direct study of the Scripture with the purpose of helping the student grow in discipleship. The study guides were written by Bishop Richard Wilke and his wife Julia Wilke. The studies are taught throughout the United Methodist Church.
Currently there are four different studies:
Disciple II: A study of Genesis, Exodus, Luke and Acts. The class meets once a week for 32 weeks.
Disciple III: A study of the prophets and the books of Paul. The class meets once a week for 32 weeks.
Disciple IV: A study of the writings of the Old Testament and--in the New Testament—the Gospel of John and the Book of Revelations. The class meets once a week for 32 weeks.
A number of Disciple Bible classes have been taught at Woodland over the past few years. To date there are about fifty graduates of Disciple Bible classes taught at Woodland. Surveys as to interest in specific Disciple classes are now underway. Call the church office to voice your interest for offerings in the fall.
