The Pathfinder Sunday School class consists of members whose ages most typically fall in the “Boomer” generation, i.e. we’ve finally gotten our heads together and now our bodies are beginning to fall apart! Our denominational backgrounds are quite varied, some having grown up at Woodland and others who have come from other cities, denominations or simply new Christians. We range in Biblical knowledge from the novice to the “Theologian”. Our family status include singles, couples, those with young children, those with not-so-young children, and those who classify their pets as children. While our backgrounds are varied we are committed to the Social Principles of the United Methodist Church and the word of our Lord, Jesus Christ. It is this commitment that leads us to participate in the missions and ministries of Woodland such as:
| Middle School Mentoring | |
| Choirs | |
| United Methodist Urban Ministry volunteer work | |
| Adopt-a-Child programs | |
| Youth Group Sponsors | |
| Scout Leaders | |
| Sunday School Teachers | |
| Mission School work camps | |
| United Methodist Women | |
| Walk To Emmaus Board Members | |
| …….. |
And yes, we have fun social gatherings also! Our Final-Four Chili Cookoffs, Christmas Gift Exchanges, Canoe Trips (now where was that spillway?), Ladies Quilt Group, Melodrama, Thrift Sale Work Sessions, … all provide us with a bit of relief spiritual uplift when the hustle and bustle of our Boomer life seems to be overtaking us.
We would welcome your visit. We meet on the second floor, northwest corner classroom. Our lessons each Sunday cover various topics which may just provide that little boost you need on your spiritual journey. Hope to see you soon!
